today I was inspired by a snow dump..
Ok. Yesterday I was inspired by a snow dump but I didn’t have time to post then. I’m still inspired.
A foot of fresh snow sure feels like a clean slate to me. A rebirth.
I have a very dear friend who reminds me constantly that every day is the first day of the rest of your life.
We get a do-over every morning we get up.
It’s ok if you get up in the afternoon. The do-over principle still applies.
I got to cross country ski in powder yesterday. I’ve never done that. It was more work than a groomed track but heck, I was doing it by a snowy stream in the heart of the Beartooth mountains with a sunny blue sky. Nothing to complain about.
I was solitary in my pursuit. With only a set of fresh tracks made earlier that morning to guide me. It felt amazing. I used those tracks on my way back and I got to fly a little- so fun!
Amazingly, my friends Anton and Katherine suddenly appeared over a hill. Also cross country skiing. I haven’t seen them since they moved back to the area a month ago. It was an appropriate reunion spot. Anton didn’t think it was my car (it was) parked up at the trail head. Too many hippie stickers he said… haha
So, rebirth. What are you going to do today with the first day of the rest of your life?
